Alison maintains a specialist practice in family law, appearing as counsel and sitting as arbitrator and mediator or FDRP at Anthony Mason Chambers (SA) and Foley’s List (Vic). With thirty years of legal experience; first as a solicitor, then at the Independent Bar since 2020 she brings rare depth to the full spectrum of family law disputes, from complex financial proceedings to the most sensitive and risky parenting matters.
In property and financial matters, Alison advises and appears in proceedings involving trusts, companies, third parties, superannuation, bankruptcy and tax; including Division 7A issues. She regularly acts for high-net-worth individuals and families and is at ease with complex business valuations, financial statements and expert evidence, drawing on both her legal expertise and an MBA to deliver pragmatic, commercially grounded outcomes.
In parenting proceedings, Alison is known for her sensitivity and clarity of focus in matters involving family violence, mental health, substance abuse, international relocation, abduction and child protection.
She works with equal facility as counsel, Family Law Mediator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or Arbitrator. Her understanding of the intersection between family law, family law across international borders and state child protection agencies as well as people under stress and in conflict is particularly valued by solicitors briefing her in complex parenting matters.
Alison is an accredited Advanced Specialist Family Law Arbitrator (AIFLAM/Bond University, 2023), an Advanced Mediator (AMDRAS, 2025) and an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. She has held Specialist Accreditation in Family Law from the Law Society of SA since 2005.
She currently serves as SA Representative on the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, as the AIFLAM Family Law Section Representative, and as a member of the SA Bar Membership Committee.
