Russel is traditionally briefed by solicitors acting for insurers.  He is briefed by all the firms in South Australia who act for insurers.  He is also regularly briefed by interstate solicitors in matters proceeding in this State. 

He is very experienced in Dust Disease matters (where his opponents have regularly been senior counsel) and is regularly briefed to appear for employers and insurers as well as the Statutory Reserve Fund (administered by Return to Work SA). 

He has regularly (and successfully) conducted appeals to the Full Court of the Supreme Court of South Australia, the South Australian Court of Appeal and the Full Tribunal of the South Australian Employment Tribunal.
